I am a descendent of Amanda Duncan through Juanita bouldin and Arthur Byrd smith, down to Carroll smith who was my grandfather.
I am doing family research and am wondering about the story behind Amanda Duncan's birthplace on the San Jacinto battlefield. Why was this? Is there more to the story? I have only heard vague stories that I have no idea of their truth.
