Hello Erica...I am looking into "The Levy Family" and their connection to Rebecca Levy-Wiener, Half-Sister to Josephine Sarah Marcus-Earp.
According to "Lady of The O.K. Corral" by Ann Kirschner, She also confirms that Rebecca's maiden name was "Levy".
Because of the my close cousin connections to "The Benrimo and Belasco Families of San Francisco and New York", it is mentioned in her book that Rebecca's Sister, Josephine, was personal friends with Sarah Belasco, Sister of Playwrite-Director, David Belasco. It is very possible that Rebecca would have known them also.
On my Family Tree... I have a Great Great Grandmother named Rebecca Levy-Alexander. Age wise... she is in the same generation as Rebecca Levy-Wiener's Father, ??? Levy? If they are related, it could resolve this missing piece in The Marcus Family Line.
Hi Alfred
I've built out this tree a little
and hope to do more.
There's enough now to gain a picture - Arthur L. Levy emigrated from England; he was a merchant; he originally settled in New Utrecht near the farm of Englebert Lott; and he got rich -- ended up in a Manhattan townhouse with an attached carriage house.
check out the census reports ...
OK that's great Erica :)... But I am trying to find if Rebecca Levy-Wiener (Half-Sister of Josephine Sarah Marcus-Earp) is a Grand Daughter or Kin of Arthur L. Levy, by way of a Son, ??? Levy?
If ??? Levy is the Son of Arthur L. Levy, then it could make Rebecca Esther Levy-Alexander her Aunt or Grand Mother... am I on the right track? If so... then it would confirm a much closer association to that side of those New York/San Francisco Families?
Thanks;
Al
Thank you Erica... I am also looking into "The DeMille Family" as well. David Belasco was friends with Henry Churchill deMille, Father of Cecil B. deMille. I found a family connection by way of his Mother, Matilda B. Samuel- deMille.
I found that Cecil married Constance Adams, who came out of East Orange New Jersey. Geni only has limited information on her parents, Fredric Adams.
I know that there is an "Adams Family Line" that goes to New Jersey, that I think connects to "The Adams Family of Boston"... if so, again another close family connection. I will continue to research this line. Sometime next week, I may go to the "Hollywood Heritage Museum" at The Lasky-DeMille Film Barn for a Hollywood Social Event... I hope to find this additional family connection.
Thanks;
Al
Looks good... Thank You :)
Regarding "The Adams Family Lines" I have some of The Political Adams as 2nd. and 3rd, Cousins in My Family Tree. Constance Adams-deMille is slowly coming together... I am up to Maj. Benjamin Adams and Mrs. Everett-Adams. This line goes to a William Adams... I'm still putting this together,
:)
