I don't have anyone in my database who looks like he could be August, but I keep watching. My Swanströms settled in Chetek, Wisconsin, so perhaps a different bunch.

Perhaps. I do that in 1908 August Swanstrom moved back to Sweden after his wife died and started a new family. But he left Edwin and Elvera here in the states.

Do you think he died in Sweden? If so, you might be able to find him fairly easily with a trial subscription to Arkiv Digital.

I am pretty sure that he did die in Sweden. But I won't find out for sure til I get the other information from his other grandchildren.

No I don't know that about him but I do know that Anna Sophia (Anderson) Swanstrom was born in Norrbotten Sweden in 1872. I do believe they were married in Sweden and I know that they were here in the states before 1899 because that is when Elvera was born.

I have found out where August Swanstrom was born. He was born 17 August 1858 in Parish of Barne Asaka in the County of Skarborg Sweden. Although the name that he is listed under is Svensson or Svanteson and that is before he came to the United States. He also had a brother that came over in 1895. His name was Herman and he settled in Easton Mass.

August Svensson left Frugården in Åsaka on Feb 13, 1880 for 'Amerika'.
