HRH, Queen Elizabeth II is my 11th cousin, once removed. We share many, many lines but here's the quick path on Geni.
Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom
MPd, "edit" is totally locked, so we cannot even see which names are entered in which fields, and NO SOURCES.
There are 4 "Documents" -- but not sure anyone ever looked to see what was actually created by Geni. First one shows, when clicked on,
"DATATITL Royal92.ged
NOTE Source Medium: Other
DATA
TEXT Date of Import: Apr 19, 1999"
3 of the 4 Documents are this sort of entry.
--- Is this actually helpful? Or were folks unaware that in some cases, geni does not/did not create picture of what you saw?
The other Document, "US-British Relation" pulls up a part of a Family Tree, and the URL still works -- at bottom of screen URL goes to is a Warning: "THIS WEBSITE IS NOT AN AUTHORISED REFERENCE SOURCE AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. INFORMATION IS PROVIDED HEREIN WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEE. PLEASE VERIFY IT AGAINST RELIABLE REFERENCES BEFORE USE. WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ERRORS THAT MAY BE CONTAINED HEREIN."
Not impressed by Documents and Sources there.
And does anybody know -- is this a bug?? -- Discussions Tab shows "(3)" -- but when click on it, there are 5 Discussions.
I saw those sources, must be remanent of geni days gone past.
BUT hopefully, all has been checked by now. Curators etc?
I keep telling my mother to die her hair, I am catching that grey thing as well.
Is there a way to "remove" the "hair-itage"? DNA manipulation? I also caught the GENder and often the dual personality disorder, referring to myself in plural.
Curious how many cousins to Queen Elizabeth II on this list have actually proved their royal roots? I hired a genealogist to prove my royal ancestry with the various papers and vital statistics necessary. The relationship calculator on Geni is a great tool but we cannot expect the calculator to be 100 percent accurate without verifiable proof that we are, in fact, cousins to Queen Elizabeth II.
