For those interested in pension records from this war, there is quite a collaboration going on between the National Archives, Ancestry, and Fold3. Ancestry has agreed to match funds raised for digitizing the entire collection. <three cheers for Ancestry>

Digitized records are available immediately on Fold3 - FREE FOREVER. <three cheers for Fold3>

A belated thanks for posting this. :) I've been making small donations here and there when possible since 2012 and I think others must be doing similar amounts because I swear their fundraising thermometer thingie has barely budged! :(

It saddens me that people will spend so much money to get into meaningless lineage societies but don't do enough to preserve important history.

Could not agree more, Ashley! This is such an important project...

Wonder if MyHeritage will be able to index it to provide record matches.

With Ancestry footing so much of the bill, who knows. :/ The effort is being led by the FGS, which is unofficially tied to BrightSolid/FindMyPast, and there's been no talk of these being available even on FMP, so I'd say it's unlikely. But oh, wouldn't it be wonderful!

I found this 1812 veteran his Wikitree profile states he has records but I haven’t found any. I added him to the War of 1812 project just waiting for mangers to approve. My research showing different last name then Geni has I found Collison as last name.
