Today I was able to match the heraldry of Robert Andrews I (Guillame D'Audrieu) with an Andrews family gravestone (Abigail Andrews Tisdale) in Providence, RI, where my family is from (I am an Andrews descendant). I have always had the idea that our ancestors knew exactly who they were, and here 20 generations later, they are still putting the Coat of Arms on their gravestones in the new world.
