William Chalfont

William Chalfont, d. 7 Feb. 1543, Mayor of High Wycombe, and his son Thomas Chalfant, b. 5 May 1520, m. 28 June 1576 to Margaret Bennett. Thomas was also mayor of High Wycombe. William's father is listed as William de Chalfont, b. about 1450. One correspondent mentioned that William may have been a cousin of Henry VIII. Thanks for any information available. Lynne Mayer

Chalfants were the stewards of Henry VIII at Windsor Castle and lived in two nearby villages (still there) Chalfont St. Giles and Chalfont St. Peter.

The name has also been spelled CHALAFANT. My Maternal Grandmother's mother is my connection to this family. LUCY and Elizabeth Chalafante 1541 born to Wm. are mentioned in the 1978 testimony, but I did not understand why at the time.

I will upload the family data that have on Chalafante in US soon. DCR

Mart: Once I enter the Chalfant data I have this will all connect to your family Im hopeful at least of that much. Chalfant's were servants in the household of HENRY TUDOR at Windsor, and incidentally this was where Edward VI was living I think. So If not Henry, then Edward is the source of my family linkage to Elizabeth and Lucy Chalfante 1541. Regards DCR

i realise that we cant change the name profile...its the way of see all this

with the hepl of visual tree conection from geni we know its from same branch
mart

I have the connection from Sir John Perrott to Elizabeth Warren- Foote posted on my thread where Im the only posting. Check it out. Perhaps you will recognise the names and find one to you..Cheers DCR
