Gene Kirby, 56, passed away May 20, 1999.
Mr. Kirby was born in West Virginia and had resided in Stow the past 10 years, moving there from California. He had served with the U.S. Army for 10 years, and had attended Stow Alliance Fellowship Church.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Daniella Kirby; parents, Clarence and Ruby Kirby; and brothers, James and Kenneth Kirby, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Diana; daughters, Sherie Kirby of Xenia and Celeste Kirby of Stow; grandaughters, Raquel Kirby of Xenia and Corey Vickers of Florida; brothers, Eddie Kirby of West Virginia and Ray Kirby of Arizona, and Gary and Mickey Martin, both of California; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stow Alliance Fellowship Church, 4460 Stow Rd., Stow, with Dr. Arnold Fleagle officiating. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1900 W. Market St., Akron 44313-6927, in his memory.

Hi Sherie. You and I are not related (your Dad and I were friends), but, in case you don't already know, the person who is working on your Dad's tree is your cousin Mary Susan Huggart (Little). Your Grandmother Ruby was her Aunt. There are others also researching the same Kirby lines.
