There seems to be some confusion about whether Nicholas Frost is truly the father of Nicholas ‘The Beaver Trader’ Frost . I've read the arguments on the son's profile and looked at some of the sources but it appears to me that the dates do work:

Nicholas b.1585 could have fathered Nicholas b.1645 at the age of 60. It's the mother's age that could cause a problem, and in this case it looks fine - she was born in 1610, so she would have been 35 at the time of the son's birth.

He seems to fit snugly into the middle of the children listed for this couple, with a brother two years older and four younger sibs spaced out every couple of years.

Departure from Bristol is not the same as BORN in Bristol, so I don't see that as an issue, either.

The one problem I do see is that Nicholas b.1585 seems to have emigrated aboard the Wulfrana, arriving in June, 1634 - 11 years prior to the birth of Nicholas b.1645, whom Stackpole says came in 1662. I have a hard time ignoring Stackpole.

Tagging the curator of Nicholas b.1645, Tobias Rachor (C) also tagging Erica Howton for her expertise in this time and place.

Also, is it stretching the imagination too much that both men appear to have had wife and children abducted by Indians? I know that it happened, but was it THAT common? Or were these guys just really really unlucky?

Hi I'm very new to this site I just wondered if anyone here knows about Nicholas Frost & the battle of Agincourt in that the family were the chief Bowers to King Hnery 5th England 1415. The line as far as I know goes back to 1309.
Any additional info would be great - thanks.
