Why is his tombstone in Arkansas. According to the story I've read his body was never found, hence the name Fines Creek. I went there last August, there's a mural on the library wall name " Man in the river" telling of his body never being found. He is my 4th grandfather.

Welcome cousin - he is my 5th great grandfather. I descend through Phebe (Fine) Cunningham

It's a memorial, not a tombstone:

"memorial stone is in the Newberry Cemetery in Crawford Co., Arkansas."

And why it's there - I figured we had a lot of cousins in Crawford county!

Actually it looks like we might be double 4th / 5th cousins?

Mural is "Dead man in the river" not just man in the river, a typo on my part. I can work with you but I'm slow.

I'd love to see an image of that mural and / or the story of it's being in the library. What library?
