There is no disagreement that William Colvard married Rachel Berry and they had children Peyton, etc. What I'm wondering is, IS THERE ANY DOCUMENTATION THAT HIS MIDDLE NAME WAS "PLEASANTS."?
The reason why I'm asking is because my family has gone under the surnames Calvert, Colvard, and Colbert, and I share
a y-DNA-67 match with two Colvard cousins who can trace their ancestor to William Pleasants Colvard of NC and to Hardeman Co., TN
His family moved there in the 1820's, so I'm wondering if there were "TWO" William Colvards living in western NC at the same time.
Parents William Pleasants Colvard and Rebecca Davis of NC moved to Hardeman Co., TN with their children.
Marriage records of children of William Pleasants and Rebecca Colvard in Hardeman Co., TN:
Pleasant Colvard m. Jane Bailey 29 June 1826
Rebecca Colvard m. John Riggs 2 May 1829.
Sarah Colvard m. John Dunaway
Janie Colvard m. James Cody 19 April 1826
Elizabeth Colvard m. Alexander Ross 3 Jan 1835
Wade Hampton Colvard (born 1812) m Latha Ann Gage 30 Jan 1830.
The two Colvard cousins that I have a y-DNA-67 match with were descendants of Wade Hampton Colvard and Latha Ann Gage.
As you can see, William and Rebecca also had son named Wade Hampton Colvard. However, the Wade Hampton Colvard who was born in 1805 m. Phoebe Vannoy on 2 Nov 1831.
Similar Christian names and the same surname -- Colvard. And the ages are similar, but not exact.
My 4th GG was Thomas Calvert/Colvard of Halifax Co., NC. He stayed there until 1768 and then moved to Franklin Co., NC. I have Colbert cousins who still live there. My cousin Pete Colbert and I also share the same DNA.
Like to exchange information with you.

P.S. Have you or any of your direct-line Colvard males ever taken a DNA test? If all of us had the same DNA, that would be
very revealing.
