I need to break off the parents of John King of Weymouth 1600-1669. As I have extensively developed the trees of Sir John King and Catherine Drury King I would like to break them off as parents without deleting their profiles and lines - I have done this in the past on another line and received angry requests for years. PLEASE ADVISE. I do have PROOF that the parents of John King of Weymouth, John King, & John Goodman King - any 1600-1669 is NOT Sir John King and Catherine Drury King. None of the children of that couple emigrated- the family was nobility and is well documented. I have been combing documents for days. I want to right my profile. Thanks.

Susan, can you repost in the Attention Curators thread and also provide a link. I assume that John King is a Master Profile and curated? If so, it would be good to email the curator with your evidence.

We do this sort of thing all the time, assuming that the evidence is reliable.

It's good of you to start a discussion and to have documentary evidence. No one should be angry if there is evidence. Best to make sure the profiles are well documented in About Me and with a Curator's Note, if they are detached.

Goodman John King, of Weymouth

I suggest that you email the curator directly. I can also help him, if needed.

http://www.laurenceholbrook.net/Weymouth1923/weygenk.txt on John King of Weymouth.

I'll detach them for you. I had the same issue with the Leonards of Taunton (over and over).

Okay, I have detached and done some work on John King of Weymouth.

I request assistance in cutting loose an erroneous merge. On February 24, Mary Susan Newton merged her profiles for John Barlow Jr and Thomas Barlow with my profiles for people of the same names. I believe her merge was incorrect because my John Barlow Jr was born c. 1768, father of Joseph born c. 1805 and son of John Barlow Sr, born c. 1740 in Virginia. This data came from the book "Bunches of Barlows". Ms. Newton's John Barlow Jr was born 1600-1660. My Barlow line has not yet been tracked back out of the US as far as I have been able to determine. I sent a message to Ms.Newton regarding this merge but I have received no response. Thank you for your help.

Douw Gerbrand Steyn I have used "undo merge" to undo the merge, but you should check both profiles to make sure there are not side effects that also need to be fixed.

Someone by mistake merged two profiles together who are not the same. Rose (Rachel) Amsel (Klein) with Freida (Schimmel) Zahn. I want to get rid of Rachel Amsel off of my tree and return what I had for Freida (Schimmel) Zahn. Can someone please help me!
