Mary Frances Pearson Raised the following query -

<I notice that in the baptism registers of David and Mary 's children, she is named as 'Mary Smith the daughter of Mary Smith', which indicates that she was probably illegitimate. I'm wondering what evidence there is for her ancestors and if her ancestors are incorrect in this tree?>

See http://media.geni.com/p13/43/ea/68/34/5344483bb215d187/bapt_origina... - baptism of Betty Cawood

However - Found on Ancestry -

England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 about Mary Smith
Name: Mary Smith
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 3 Mar 1776
Baptism Place: Bingley, York, England
Father: James Smith
FHL Film Number: 919129
Original data: England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. Salt Lake City, Utah: FamilySearch, 2013.

(Image of this baptism also added to Mary's profile)

Which gives a Father's name - supporting the date of birth on her profile.

Is there any source that supports the claim that this is the Mary who married David Cawood?
