I am Lidvor's great-grandson in the USA: Kyle Hagen ( kylehagenaz@gmail.com) . Lidvor's first wife (widowed twice) was Aashild Nyland. In the USA, Lidvor went by the name "Levar" Nyland. It appears that Lidvor's father's last name was Bratsberg, but I am not sure how Lidvor came by the last name of Veheien. Lidvor's oldest son is Olav "Ole" Lidvaarsen Nyland. Ole Nyland's only child is my mother Gloria Nyland, who married my father Darryll Hagen. Both Levar & Ole Nyland moved to Watford City, North Dakota, USA in 1911 & 1909.
I was recently reading about naming conventions in Norway and I may have found an answer to where Veheien comes in. At the time Lidvor was living in Norway, it was common for families to adopt the name of the farm they lived on. In Lidvor's case, he lived on the farm Veheien which is located in the municipality Rakkestad.
Thank you! I had heard about families taking the name of the farm that they moved to, but I had never heard of the name Veheien. Also, Nyland has been spelled different ways: Nyland, Nylend, Nylende, & Nylund. Regards, Kyle Hagen
