Is this Marie-Catherine Le Plat? A very good genealogist told me that her parents were Atseria (Huron Chief) born in Attignadouantan, Ontario and her mother was Annengthan, also a native American from Ontario.
See http://dna.brasdorfirstnation.com/menu.html/ there is a link to an article (in French) in Le Chainon. The articles provide extensive documentation that Catherine was actually a Huron, although it is not known why the names Pierre Pilliat and Marguerite Moulinet appear in her marriage record as her parents. It should also be noted that an opposition was made at the reading of the first bann. Although the exact nature of the opposition is not known, it could possibly have been her age.
Not sure if we will ever know for sure. My husband was very excited to hear he had a Huron War Chief for a 9th great grandfather. Here is something I just found: http://www.charron-ducharme.org/index.php/en/catherine-pillard-en/8...
I didn't read it all the way through. It talks about DNA and what have you but some of these things remain unknown in spite of everything researches claim to discover.
