Well not to far back to this one, not bad for less than 1300 years.

I was surprised to find him in my bloodline a few months ago!

Looks like we are all related! Charlemagne is also MY 34th great grandfather! And when I was watching "Who Do You Think You Are?" on TV this past Summer, it looks like we are all related through Charlemagne to Cindy Crawford!

Just about all of us here on geni could trace all the way back to Charlemagne on so many lines. There's some lines where it takes as short as 35 generations (32 ggf), and others as long as 45 generations (42 ggf). So yeah it's pretty cool. Everyone of any European descent, if they can do so, should be able to trace their ancestry back to Charlemagne.

But sometimes, although you descent from him, my father and my mother by the way, GENI shows only an indirect line via marriage. Crazy isnt it?

Yeah it happens.

What ur saying is ur an in derect relative and not a descendent, right?

12/19/2013 at 12:25 PM

My father and my mother are both descendants of Charlemagne. But when you ask GENI to show it sometimes they show an indirect relationship by marriage. With two colors, you know? Yesterday it showed this last lineage but today when i checked it showed the descendance to me too. You can check.

Thx D

That is another subject. Nevermind. But who knows what is right? Both websites Geni and Wikipedia are filled in by amateur volonteers. If you really want to know something you has to study the real thing yourself. Reading books written by scolars. So some people use the wrong sources. But what sources are right. Who knows? There is not certainty. His whole roman ancestry is probably made up. Although even that is not certain. As long as you love your mam and dad everything is gonna be fine. Or love your wife or husband or children or friends.....

obama connects into ruthven and, if you message me; i'll give you the other name - it connects people like marilyn monroe, elvis, dame elizabeth taylor, judy garland, and, a lot of interesting people who share the same great grandfather around the 29th or 30th level

When I not so tired and can see straight I will post the entire line from him to me.ZIt's not showing when I go his profile and to follow it on Geni is next to impossible as their are so many other connections from other people, that it gets confusing not to mention the name are no longer in English ,which again can confusing to me. I think and I have said this before, when you go into your end of the tree it should automaticly go to the langure you can read. It would make it so much esier to back track from say someone like Chalemagne to yourdelf. Now if you start from you and back up that way and use the other tree chart that only shows yoy you might make it alright.

I'd also like to see the whole tree all at once. Just keep scrolling up , instead of having to hit on eact individivials tree., with out seeing all other connecting parties.Too many people to contend with.

I just sent Amy the line I was talking about. She sent me diferent line. She seemed to think too long to list here. I don't think so. I have seen many people do it. Of even tho I could put all my connections to him on I wouldn't that would be too long.

I think it is fun to find that two or three different lines of ancestors
lead to Charlemagne. I remember finding one line which was later proven to be too weak a connection. So, now I can imagine that I have several links to this
great leader of early days in France.

I think it's really interesting to the many path my lines take to get to him.
