I am hoping to generate discussion on the Carignan-Salières Regiment. I have learned my Majore name descends from a Beautron dit Major, and recently read of a Francois Boutron/Beautron 'La Majore who landed in New France in 1666, one year after the 1665 first voyages of this Regiment.
Sincerely,
Del Majore.

hi mr del majorei still curious and try to help finding clue to your puzzle ,there also a Étienne Boutron Dit Major
in french the use of LE or LA refere to gender so LE is atribuate to a man LA refere to a feminine so it is possible family name change for francois boutron le major i dont find much but for etienne its a possible way
also in french name change due to interpretation.
