In about 2002 Tom Marshall told me about an old Risner grave yard on Puncheon Creek in Magoffin County KY. My wife, a daughter and I climbed a long steep hill to find an overgrown cemetery. We had trouble locating and grave, but basically stumbled over Meredith Risner's old grave marker. I ordered a Civil War marker for Meredith Risner and a small marker for his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Whitaker Risner. Over the years the cemetery was cleaned and an arched metal cemetery sign placed at the entrance. about 10 more markers were set in the cemetery.
