David Metzler, Sr. - "Deacon"

Unless this person's actual first name was "Deacon David", it's an inappropriate use of the "first name" field to store that information there. I changed it back to reflect this person's given first name (the name of record) rather than his church title.

You're right that it shouldn't be in the first name field. However, this is a great example of where you can use the display name field to include that additional information. Take a look at the profile now to see how we usually do it on Geni.

This is the perfect compromise because it retains the integrity of the data while also showing the familiar form/title.

Yes, "very cool" . . .just so long as the honorary title is in the Display Name Field and not in the First Name Field.

I put all the titles in the display field as well. Military, religious, and professional titles. As well as titles for nobles and royalty.
