Maybe Erin Ishimoticha, you have some better skills at Jamaican records? I think the key would be finding Violet Mae Watson's parents as they're reputed to come from a prosperous Jamaican family.

Unfortunately, I don't. I wish I did. My most important dead-end is in the Bahamas.

Victar I was thinking there might be some good Facebook groups that might help. I haven't worked much outside "the usual suspects" on this kind of connection.

Kenneth Kwame Welsh, (C) is our Jamaica expert. I am still learning from him.

I would agree about Facebook. That is where I have the most success with my Afro-Jamaican ancestry. I'll post in a couple and see if anyone can help.

(Side note: Should I start a dedicated thread for "Help find the connection between..." requests? This comes up often and we have many community members who loves this type of research. Or maybe a "Connect the Dots" project?)

I had some luck and found parents. Turns out to be more complicated -- surprise, surprise -- but the connection must be through Matilda Johnson d'Aguilar, assuming it really exists.

I wonder if it's not a blood connection, but rather through his wife, Private.
