Ashley,

Can you paste a hyperlink for the other Grietijn as a work around for me (search function doesn't work for Basic User)

:(

I do know of two other Moeskoker families in this era so i'm curious.

The link is right on the profile as a sibling. :) Grietijn Moeskoker

A user asked me to do the MPs because of potential bad sibling merges. I asked a Dutch curator to take over but never heard back.

Also, the notes at the top explain the reasons for the MP status. I try to put explanatory notes on all MPs.

If you have any questions in the future about specific MPs and why they've been made, definitely feel free to send me a private message.

I did see the note but didn't twig that the bad merge might be with an immediate family member (it should have as i have about 20 of those in my merge centre).

If you have more cases like that, feel free to ask that they be MPed to prevent bad merges.

The problems that come up are almost always due to one child dying young and the name being reused for another. People assume the birth date on the died-young child is just a typo of the surviving one's birth date and merge them together, especially when we don't know the died-young's date of death. We were constantly losing children who'd died young until we started MPing them as a matter of practice. Problem solved!

I take it the Dutch curator never did get back to you :) I'll take them both over

Hah! This is quite the flashback. :) Thanks for helping out with taking them over.

Not exactly a high traffic area, i was going thru old discussion alerts and this was one that popped up.

I also took a couple of colonial american/dutch profiles from the exchange project as well as Elle Macpherson, I've never met her but we grew up in the same suburb of Sydney.
