Sarah Purnell (née LEWIS) was the daughter of Thomas Lewis descended from a junior branch of the Lewis of Van family of Glamorganshire and Elizabeth Pride of the Pride of Llandaff Mill family. Sarah Lewis was born at Leckwith Manor, Great House Farm, Canton, Cardiff. It is the ancestors of this THOMAS LEWIS that I am trying to trace. He is my husband’s third gg father and was born about
1776 in Llandaff, Glamorganshire.

This information states that Lewis Lewis and Ann Catton (Cotton) were the parents of the Thomas Lewis I am trying to trace. However, they died in the USA and there is another anomaly:
My conflicting information is this.
While these records state that Lewis Lewis was the father of Thomas Lewis and that he married Ann Cotton and had a son called Thomas Cotton Lewis in Llandaff in 1776 – these other records state that: Thomas Lewis married Ann Mason, Mary Watts, and Sophia Rice Malcom and not Sarah Pride. See below.
