I have numerous profiles of relatives that was added and managed by Glen Lofton Bedgood that are private. I have contacted him and he hasn't replied. I understand some would like to remain private but the profiles I'm interested in most are deceased. Is there anyway possible I could be added to these profiles or do I just have to wait until he responds? Any help would be appreciated!!!! :) thanks!!!!!

Jana check his profile (actions menu) & see if there's an option - abandoned tree. If you see it, select it, paying attention to the message that will briefly show.

Also please post a link to the oldest (by approximate birth date) profile you are interested in, or one nearby that is public is better. A link is the Geni profile address you see in the browser when you open it up to profile view - the www. Geni. Xxx URL. Just highlight it, copy, and then paste into this discussion.

Private User. This is glens profile. I clicked on the action tab but it didn't give me the abandoned tree option...... more profiles that I wanted to add info to are in the Akin family profiles........ Huel Parker Akin is one of them. Thanks I know there are some that are older but I will have to look again...

Jana the profiles are within the privacy zone for Glen & he is an active Geni user. I have a couple of suggestions for next steps:

- send him a collaboration request (actions menu on his profile, request to collaborate)
- - note: there is space to "customize" the standard message by adding your own message. For instance, "our trees intersect on XXX profile, it's great to meet a new cousin!"
- create your own version of a key profile in the group that is public and that gateways to your section of the tree.
- drag & drop it on his version of that profile. This generates a "request to merge" for him to approve.

And yes, have a little patience - it's vacation time! :)

Thanks....... I requested info back in March.... not sure why he hasn't answered back but I haven't recently tried because I was still waiting... I will definately send him a collaboration request ..... then would that let me add info to some of these profiles??

No, he'd need to make them public for you to add on. But i presume you're following one line & he's following a slightly different one, so it's probably just the one for you to "grow on" you need.

Be prepared to explain how he can make his profile public! (in profile view > edit basics > upper right hand corner > radio button: this is a public profile)
