Robert, Geni has placed restrictions on GEDCOM uploads because it was found that they were creating too many duplicates in the database.
The idea here is that you don't need to enter your entire tree- but only profiles that someone else has not already entered (including your own family members). Once you have built your tree out far enough that you find your first duplicate that someone else has previously entered in the World Tree, then you can request that those duplicates be "merged"- thereby causing your tree and the Geni World Tree to become one and the same.
