Dear Friends!

We know that the roots of many Hungarian Jewish family trees go back to the medieval Austria, including Vienna. After the expulsion of Jews from there, many settled to the more welcoming Hungary.

That is why it is so exciting to learn about the trove of ancient Jewish tombstones unearthed in Vienna.

The Jewish community spokesman said that some tombstones date back to 16th century; Vienna city officials expect excavations to yield up to 800 headstones.

I will post some links to articles.

Regards, Gyorgy
