Hello
I am researching my patrilinear line and have gotten back to John Colt Spooner (1540-1590) lived most of his life in Colchester UK along with some time at the Puritan colony in Lieden Holland (where his subsequent progeny James Colt Spooner would move before moving to Massachusetts)
Does anyone have any further information about John Colt Spooner and or where the Colt Spooner name connection comes from?
_____________
Additionally I am researching the historical figure Sir John Spooner aka Sir John Spon aka Sir John Sponer who was cited in historical documents at York from 1485.
"With the death of King Richard III at Bosworth, the dynasty of YORK ended with the battle and Sir John Spooner rode into the city of York the day after the battle. The Mayor and Aldermen assembled in the council chamber and -" it was recorded by Sir John Spooner that --- King Richard mercifully reigning upon us, was piteously slain and murdered to the great heaviness of the citizens of York who regarded as their right and mighty Prince did not forget the betrayal of Richard"
Does anyone know anything further about this individual and or his lineage?
thank you
