Daughter of Thomas Sharp, I and Elizabeth Sharp (Smith) Elizabeth Nation

Daughter of John Sharp, Il and Anne (Haines) Hooten Sharp Elizabeth Sharp

Daughter of Willem Thyssen Tysern Swaim and Mary Marya Lageler Sween (Larzelere) Elizabeth Nation

MH Family trees also seem to reflect 3 different Elizabeths: a NY-birthed one; a NJ-birthed one, and one from further south (VA/NC).

I suspect we have a confusion of Christophers which accompany this.

Agree. We need to sort the Sharp families; this should bring insight to the Nation(s) as well.

Let's start compiling resources.

Dan Cornett I'm not sure I have an opinion yet on which Elizabeth was Christopher's wife, but in learning a little about my (possible) 7th great uncle - he was a Regulator! (A pre revolutionary war reform movement that historians consider an important step to independence). Very cool stuff.

This was a little too easy - she's named "my daughter Elizabeth Nation" in the will of Thomas Sharp of Frederick VA, 1762

See http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=ourte... which I will upload to profiles as a source.

That confirms the parents of one Elizabeth Nation-born-Sharp.

However, the real issue, I think, still is figuring out the spouses of the three women with married name of Elizabeth Nation; I have little doubt about the parents of those 3 women. I *am* doubtful that those three women all married the same Christopher Nation.

They surely didn't. I'm still putting the kids in the right spot but I did notice there are likely 2 Elizabeth daughters of John Sharp ll - b 1719 & 1726, so perhaps the 1st is a died young. Have not seen the wife of Christopher Nations Jr b abt 1745 as yet & he was clearly mixed up in records with his father. The Swaim family is associated with the Nation family (& the Robins & Vickery) so the "clan map" should include them. Nation at this point do not seem to be formal Society of Friends members but they are clearly sympathetic & associated by marriage & proximity (land), in NJ, VA & NC. Do I have a feeling we'll be able to build more.

Notes from Private profile for Christopher Nation

Christopher Nation was apparently married twice (to two women named Elizabeth):

* 1st to Elizabeth Sharp, daughter of Thomas Sharp and Elizabeth Harrison.
* 2nd to Elizabeth Swaim, daughter of Michael Anthony Swaim and his 1st wife Elizabeth Cortelios.

So Dan I'm comfortable that Christopher d 1799 married 1) Elizabeth Sharp, mother of his children, & leaning to but unverifed 2) Elizabeth Swain. However there are issues with her death date (she died after 1799) & parents (if she was of Dutch background from Staten Island, how did she come to VA?)

So more input needed on those questions ....
