As an Albright, I discovered Anna Margaret (Margretha, Margretta) Mohn as my 3-great grandmother, married on 29 March 1796, Schwartzwald Reformed, to Jacob Albrecht (Albright). There is much conflicting information, but it seems Margaret was born 30 Aug 1763 in Cumru Twp, Berks County, PA, and baptized 11 Sep 1763 at Swamp Church (Lancaster County, near Berks Co.)
Jacob may have been born about 1775. His parents were John George (Gorg) Albright (Albrecht) and Anna Maria Lehr. George was the son of John Christian Albrecht (who immigrated in 1732 at the age of six) and Elizabeth Gertrud Rick, of Berks County, PA.
Jacob and Margaret's children, or at least some of them, were baptized at Muddy Creek Church, Lancaster County (near Berks Co.). Their son Peter Albright (12 Aug 1809 - 04 Nov 1871), my great-great grandfather, married three times. His third wife, Hannah Rothermel (22 Jan 1812 - 01 Jun 1892) was the mother of my great-grandfather, Samuel Albright. I have not been able to trace Peter's whereabouts until 1850 when he and Hannah were living in Cumberland County, PA, where they died.
I welcome any corrections to the above. Gladys (Albright) Horvath, gah326@yahoo.com
My 4th great grandfather was John Albright,(Albrecht) b. 1762 in PA and died in 1819 in NC, married to a Mary (Maria?) Anna. Their children were Catherine b 1784, John b 1788, Mary b. 1790, Henry b 1793, Susannah (Susan) b. 1796, Michael b 1798, Margaret b 1799 and Samuel (my 3rd GG) b. 1800, all in Rowen, SC.
I am looking for John Albright b 1762 father, whom I believe immigrated around 1732, but have not been able to find proof. If anyone can make connections, I would be so glad. I wonder if your Albrights are related, but did not move south from PA as these Albright did.
Johannes (John) Ludwig Albrecht (born bet. 1694 and 1702 in Pfalz, Germany) married Anna Barbara Gossaue~ 1715. They immigrated to Berks County, PA, 19 Sep 1732 on the "Johnson Galley." A number of their descendants did migrate to North Carolina so it is likely you are descended from Johannes Ludwig. I took a quick look at a few generations and did not find a John born in 1726, but I'll look through my two Albright books and try to get back to you if I have any leads. One problem is that nearly all sons were names "Johannes" or John but were called mostly by their middle names.
John Ludwig Albright, (1761-1816) grandson of immigrant Johannes Ludwig Albrecht mentioned above and son of Ludwig Albrecht (1731-1810) is listed in the Shannon Albright books. He was married to Mary Troxler (? - 1787) and later to Elizabeth Sharpe (1770-1852). John Ludwig and both wives are buried in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Alamance County, NC. Their children as listed do not match the children of John and Mary that you listed. It probably is not the same John Albright, but this is the closest I could find.
Dear Angela and Gladys,
My name is Lynn Barringer Albright III and I am trying to learn at least something about my ancestry on the Albright side. My father LBA Jr and his father LBA I, were from Charlotte, NC, but I can find no record whatsoever of LBA 1s relatives. The path goes cold with him! A Judson Davis Albright Jr, from Charlotte, had a son Judson III and a daughter, born respectively in 1900 and 1902. LBA 1 was born in 1904, so I'm thinking he too may have been a son of Judson III, but the geneology does not show a third child, nor is there any mention of who LBA 1s father is. Any information you may have regarding this branch of Albright's would be greatly appreciated!
All the best,
Barry
