Dani,
Geni does handle multiple spouses very well... In order to do those you just need to add the people first...
If - just as an example - John Smith and George Doe both had children by Jane Roe - then you can add all three of them.
When you add the person - you can say "partner" rather then "husband" or "wife" if you wish to indicate it that way...
This can be edited in the "Relationships" tab for the profile even if you initially entered it incorrectly...
Then you can add children for the appropriate pairs...
The software doesn't presume that the people have to be married, and it doesn't care how many siblings with whatever pairings of parents...
It will handle what you are wanting to do - you are confused and frustrated because it just isn't obvious how all this works...
Hang in there and have a little patience... Lots of folks will help until you get the hang of it...

Dani,
Believe me - when I first started using Geni I wanted very much to throw up my hands and scream... I wrote software for a living - and some things didn't seem too friendly for me...
But - things have improved a lot over the past 4 or 5 years - and I had a lot of very kind and patient people here help me out when I thought I'd about had it...
You aren't experiencing anything unusual... You just need a deep breath and some positive reinforcement... There are a lot of tricks to this software - and the learning curve is not always short and easy...
But - at some point - believe me - you will suddenly see the light bulb come on and it will all start to make sense...
