Hi, I've run into this ancestor as my 12th cousin once removed, and am having difficulty reconciling a few discrepancies. I've put them in bold in the "About" section.
Moses Ball, III

Find A Grave Memorial# 88561029 gives burial location Chadwell Station Baptist Church Cemetery, Ewing, Lee County, Virginia, USA
Plot: Buried on top of the hill in front of Chadwell Station Church. It lists him as Moses Ball, III. I'm trying to figure out how many Moses Ball men there are in this lineage and who is I, II, III, IV, etc.....

Can anybody help me with this!? I don't have original source documents as I hadn''t been researching this distant of ancestors very much. This one intrigues me and I'd like to get it figured out.

Thanks!
Carol Vernice (Eads) Ball (yes, I married a Ball, but this ancestor is through my paternal line! I may keep searching and discover I've married my own relative/Laughing out Loud!

The reference to "Moses Ball, III" in the 1st paragraph should have stated: I have seen this man married to Elizabeth Yeary but called Moses Ball, III....

You can never have too many Balls in your trees .... :)

I always run into trouble with Roman numerals in names - not to mention Jr's who become Sr's later on when their son is the Jr etc.

So the 1st question is - was the lll in his name or is it a "genealogy" attribute?

There were more than 3 Moses Balls ...

I don't know for sure, but suspect the III was a genealogy attribute...
