There is a Briggs family book, I see the marriage & kids, can't figure out the parents yet - maybe you will have better luck?

I completed another recent merge on this that had Jonathan Briggs & Experience Harvey. I see in both cases Bård Asphjell updated the parents by removing Jonathan and Experience, leaving William and Sarah.

Bård Asphjell, do you have some information that might be able to clear up this ancestry. That way Erica or I could add a curator note to reduce future confusion and we'd have something in this discussion thread as to why we chose one set of parents over the other.

In 1700 a member of the first military company of Taunton, Mass. "Representative men and old families of southeastern Massachusetts" says he was the son of William and Sarah (Macumber) Briggs, and probably the granndson of Clement Briggs. However, the probate record of Jonathan Briggs lists Amos among his sons. He received his distribution of the estate of his father on March 30, 1709.

Please NOTE : there is no evidence that Jonathan Briggs married Experience Harvey. Jonathan Briggs did marry an Experience ____?

The Experience Harvey. b. 1644 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Mass, dau of William Harvey and Joane Hucker married her 1st cousin Thomas Harvey b. 1643 in Taunton in 1668 per "New England Marriages Prior to 1700 page 350". Thomas and Experience Harvey had six children borne between 1669 and 1679.

Jonathan Briggs and his wife Experience ____? were married about 1662 and had 13 children - the first about 1664 and the last 1689.
