Liz, I hope this information is of some value to you. I believe this could be the Loftus, you are researching. Loftus Gray was the son of Charles and Mary [Murphy] Gray. They were married in wexford, Ireland in 1835. They emigrated to the U.S. in about 1842, settling in Brooklyn Township, near Cleveland, Ohio. The names of there children were Joseph, Loftus and Bryan born in Ireland. Charles, Isabella and Robert were born in the U.S.
The first name of Loftus was used in Ireland, during this time period. Thank's, Don
