Charles de Longueval

I my genealogy, starting from my wife and going back in time, I come to a Charles de Longueval whose spouse is Louise de Joyeuse.

Looking in many sources, it is quite easy to find in Europe a Charles de Longueval son of Philippe II de Longueval and go back at least to Charlemagne.

My problem is to be sure that both Charles de Longueval are the same. In the European informations I find, I never see the name of the spouse and, starting from the present time, I canot find a formal date of birth or death.

Did someone solved that ? I can find many many trees that assume they are only one person... based on what ?

I really would like to know.
