Sabinah, 35, stout wench, (Basil Jackson). Formerly slave to Ben Stratton of the Eastern Shore, Virginia; left him 5 years ago. GBC.

Sam, 5, child of the above wench, (Basil Jackson).

Beck, 1, child of the above wench, (Basil Jackson).

Black Bill, 35, stout fellow, (Basil Jackson). Formerly slave to Ben Stratton of the Eastern Shore, Virginia; left him 5 years.

Notice Sabina has a 5 year old named Sam. I find it hard to believe that in such a comparatively small group there would be 3 Sabinahs. There was another Sabina who was a Black Loyalist, but she was 70 years old in 1783.

This raises another question... Was Isaac Allen really Samuel McCarty's father or was it a man named McCarty?

I don't have any answers, but I think the information I found in the BoN raises legitimate questions.

Samuel McCarty was my 3x great grandfather. My DNA results are drawing blanks on the Allen lineage thus far. However, I have many European DNA Relatives I can't account for. At this point in time I have my doubts that I'm related to the Allens. But, I've been wrong before.
