Various online links show birthname as Maby, Ambrose, or even Taylor.

Any thoughts on the most likely? (Parents are currently showing both Maby and Ambrose)

See also the 'About' for her.

Given name is also noted as Maria or Mary.

I don't have any hard evidence on this. I have her name as Marie Ambrose Maby, with her father as William Maby. Any documentation I may have had on that line was lost in a fire some years ago. I'm not sure there was any. I seem to recall a speculation that the family line was French, from the region of Alsace-Lorraine. The name Maby probably was Anglicized from Mabet. And if my listing is correct, Marie's middle name Ambrose probably came from a maternal name, de Ambroise. Her presumed father William seems to have been born in England, though. Whether this French connection has any validity is an open question. I would accept any firm documentation.
