My 9 x's Great Grandfather is William Gober the first, but his Father was John Young Gober my 10 x's Great Grandfather. I am direct blood line of them.

I find an international marriage record index for a William Gober, born 1718 (not 1716), in England, married in Virginia. The Geni profile says born c. 1716. Which date can you cite? I just want to make sure we make it accurate.

I am Casondra Sherer Purdes. My grandfather is William M. Gober of Walker county, AL. I know I am a direct descendent of William Gober I but I can't get past He was born in England. As anyone gone further back or is it even possible. I have no idea when / if I will be back in the UK but I have some friends that might be able to do some "leg work" for me over there.
