Amelia was the daughter of another Richard Browe her father was drowned NSW records. Her name was Amelia Hughes Browne Reel 6010 4/3512 page 547 that is all it states. At State records office. Can find no record of Richard and Sarah ever be married. In district consables note book 1822 -1823 stated as Sarah Coates and Richard Browne the Chrildren named as Mary P Browne 7 yrs. Eluze Browne 6 yrs Easter 2 harlf years Ann Browne 1 year.

Are you saying that Amelia Hughes Browne and Emily Amelia Hughes are two different girls?

What became of the daughter of Thomas Hughes, Emily Amelia? She was admitted to the Parramatta Girls' Orphanage in October 1824 but 5 weeks later,her father was petitioning the Colonial Secretary to get her back as he could look after her. I suspect he never got her back.

I have not come across Emily Amelia Hughes but I know the records show as I stated. That will needs to be checked against the Orphanage school records held at the state records office .
