Please read this announcement by Geni regarding the new matching technology, and take some time to add the records to your profiles, this will make our shared tree a lot more accurate and allow you to find and add many new relatives :)

The record Matching I have found USA centric, (I guess that will change)
The Smart Matching is great, However at times I get an incredible number of very similar results, whilst in different trees.
Thus I worry slightly about the reliability of the smart matching as a lot of geoDat copying must have been done.

if the profile is the same person, accepting the match makes no changes. soon you will be able to copy profiles directly from myheritage smartmatches with one click which will make growing the big tree a million times faster

Yes I figured they would be doing something Akin to 1 click data transfer.

Definitely throws up issues with propagated errors on the My Heritage site as there appears to be less accurate information on these trees than the oneI have researched myself. How do you avoid the incorrect info being taken as gospel as it clearly has on the MH site.

I believe nothing beats B M D type records.
And the MH family trees give you either links or clues to those same records.
I'm only using the info as I see fit.

I suggested to MH that the add matches from the NZ BDM website, whether they will do it or not i dont know. If you guys want to suggest any webites for them to source from let me know, they want websites with a minimum of 1 million records though

I have suggested to MH that they contact direct family members when adding info to the website, this will avoid embarrassing errors from occurring in most cases.
A good example is the death record of my mother, being listed as 0ct 73 instead of September 73.
Jason, your suggestion of the NZ BDM website is also an excellent idea, because their records are supposed to be immaculate, although this has proved to be not always the case as well

I have resisted signing up to My Heritage (and paying the sub) to share information in duplicate family trees - as I had paid for a Lifetime sub to Geni.com.

It's a pity My Heritage don't recognise that
