John Harrison Eads

Looking for anyone who knows death information for John Harrison Eads, b. 12/251889 in Mill Spring, Wayne Co., MO. His parents were John W. Eades/Eads b. 1828 in NC and Mary Amanda Manley Collins b. 1855 in Davidson Co.,TN. John Harrison Eads married Effie Ellen Borders on 12/12/1912 in Mill Spring, Wayne Co., MO. She was b. 1894 MO, d. In the 1970's in Elkhart Co., IN. John Harrison disappeared from the family around 1926-'28, never to be seen by them again. Many online family files erroneously give his death date as 1926. They were my paternal grandparents and the fact is no one in the family, including his wife Effie, knows when, how, or where he died, or where he is buried. Any and all help appreciated if anyone knows anything about him. (John Harrison and Effie did have a son John Harrison Eads, Jr., b. 1919 in WY....so don't be confused when he pops up!) And we wouldn't be shocked if he had another family somewhere, would just like to satisfy our curiosity about what happened to him... Thanks!
