Richard Gipson married Lucretia Dinkle in 1846 in Rockingham County, VA. In Dec. 1851 there is a marriage bond for his pending marriage to Mary Miller, widow of Conrad Miller.
Per 1850 Census for Rockingham Co., Va, he was 28 years old, married to Lucretia and they had 2 children, Mary Frances, 2 yrs. and Idusa 6 months. Mary Moore, 16 was in the household.
Mary (Reeves) Miller had a son by Richard Gibson on 9/6/1850, named William Richard Gibson. Mary had 2 sons by her first husband and, Conrad Miller, namely David J. in 1845 and Daniel in 1847. Conrad's father left her land in Upshur County, VA (now WV). In 1854, she moved with her 3 children to that land where she settled and her children remained there. I am the gr granddaughter of Richard Gibson and Mary. I have not been able to find Richard Gibson's parents or place of birth.
When he was 21 yrs. of age he was in the household of Joseph Byerrly of Rockingham County, VA.
