Dad's father was Persaud according to his ID card, but I'm going to look for a copy of that document before I put the right name. When his parents died he went to live with Uncle JM Khan, father to Buddy Khan, Ameer and Basheer Khan (I think if I contact Bibi (Rahat) my cousin, I can get more info on that part). I guess that's where he got his Muslim name Budrulzaman Khan, and later Badrudeen. I think Dad mentioned at some time his family was from northern India. I'll try to contact my cousin John Siblon in London, who's a historian to see if we can get access to the ship registers. Dad's parents probably came over earlier than 1890, maybe in the wave of 1832. I seem to recall him saying his mom was born on the passage.
