Alice Knowles Scriven takes my father's line back to England with the Knowles and the Fish. (Was never able to find James, her husband's birthplace in England. Wondering if anyone has any detailed information about the Knowles or Fish in the 1600's in England. Were they Quakers like James Scriven? How did the Knowles happen to come to Rhode Island? Were they or the Fish forced out of England by the orthodox Church--or did they leave for Rhode Island as an opportunity or adventure?
