Drenlias records two births for a girl named Annigje, daughter of Harm Thomas (Boerhof) and Wobbegien Geerts, first 12-09-1790 and again 25-08-1793. The simplest assumption is that the younger girl died and the second child was given the same name, so it is most likely that "our" Annigje's date of birth is 1793.

Drenlias only has one record for a death which is in 1850, specifically 21-01-1850 and records Annigje's age as 58 when she died. If correct this would make her birth year 1792. Compared to the birth records her actual age at death would have been either 56 or 59, it is surprising that the record of her age would be incorrect as her husband was still alive but as niether dates are a match the logical conclusion is that the age of 58 at death is just wrong.

Several (3) of the birth records for her children have her age at the time of birth recorded.

On 03-11-1827 she is recorded as being 36, her actual age would either be 34 or 37.

On 27-12-1829 she is recorded again as being 36 (so clearly one of the records cannot be correct!) compared to the birth records she would have been 36 or 39 so we have an actual match in age to the "younger" Annigje.

On 12-09-1834 she is recorded as being 40, this matches up with the previous age of 36 in 1829 but does not perfectly align with her actual age at the time. She would have just turned 41 a few weeks before giving birth, actually this is the birth date of the earlier Annigje who would have turned 44 the day of the birth (if she was alive then).

In my opinion all the records after 1800 for Annigje belong to the child born in 1793 so i will change the profile to reflect that with this discussion as an explanation, also i'm going to revert her display name to Annigje as "Annechien" doesn't appear in the records until 1835.

A theory regarding the age at death, i haven't seen the scan of the original document, it's quite possible whoever transcribed the record into Drenlias mis-read the hand written 56 and entered it into the database as 58.

Yes that's very true but in this specific case i think the evidence is clear that Annigje and Annechien are the same person.

I dug a little harder in Drenlias and found the marriage record:
Smilde, huwelijksakte, 11 november 1813, aktenr. 18

(As it happens this is further confirmation that Annigje was born in 1793, but note that it states her birth place as Vledder which is not true.)

The next time that this couple appears in Drenlias is in 1814 when their first daughter is born:

This is the first time that the name is spelt "Annechien".

Between 1814 and 1823 they have 6 children and in every case she is listed as Annechien Harms. In 1825 they have a 7th child and Annigje is listed as "Annechien Harms Tomas". There are a further three children born between 1827 and 1834, in these cases the mother's named as "Annigje Harms Boerhof".

The couple's son Tomas is born in 1823 and names are recorded so:

Tomas dies aged 13 in 1837, recorded so:

The two records for Tomas rule out any confusion as the death record also has his exact birth date. So Annechien Harms is Annigje Harms Boerhof and as Annigje is the name listed on her birth records it is the most "accurate" for her profile.
I think the fact that her name swaps and changes is an indication that she is illiterate and the notary keeping the records is not always the same person.
