According to Joan Quinn's notes as dictated by Margaret Rogers, Johnny's wife (a widow) turned out to be a "Lady of the Evening", which loosely translated is a form of mistress / prostitute. Johnny left this woman, and ended up living with "Tody" (Or "Todey"), his step-daughter whom was this unknown widow's child.

Which john coyle are you referring to? John coyle's ( Margaret kramer's brother) wife was a real "lady".

This discussion is in reference to Johnny Coyle Jr., whom was Eugene Coyle's (Ownie) and Doc's brother, he worked at Rector's restaurant in NYC as a Maitre D' and was a 'handsome dude'
