The detailed biography here of Lindo doesn't mention one of his major commercial activities - as a partner in one of the largest firms buying and selling slaves in Jamaica.

Alexandre Lindo was one of my great-great-great-grandfathers - via his youngest (?) daughter Elizabeth Lindo. My maternal grandmother's name was Myra Lindo Levien - now I finally know where the 'Lindo' came from.
