Confusing numbers of profiles

Hello,

I think that my number of added profiles was always close to the number of profiles I observe (I guess when you add a profile, you automatically observe one).
Now I've noticed, that I added 7765 profiles, and I observe 5117. Is it correct? If yes, why is that (why don't I observe all profiles I added)?

Well, now that I clicked on the number of observed profiles - 5117, the list shows me "Showing 1-20 of 8398 profiles" - so, should I assume that the latter is the correct number? :)

Hmm,

if you follow anybody, I think you automatically "inherite" their profiles to "observe". When you check your "tree matches", there will be the ones you manage, those of your relatives, and those of your colaborators, if there is an issue. The more people you follow, the more "work" there is. In one of those areas I have about 500 data conflicts to solve. 40 take about 2 hours. Guess what I am not doing....At times the conflict is as minor as somebody capitalizing a name, a letter difference, or a middle name put in the first name area. I really don't have time for that.
