I am searching for my great grandfather William D. Compton who married Margaret E. White ( Margaret Ellen White or Mary Ellen White or Maggie E.White) on December 24, 1873 in Lauderdale County, Alabama. I have found my great grandmother in 1880 census (she is now widowed)and has a 3 yr old son Willie Compton (my grandfather William Alexander Compton), and is living with her brother,sister in law and their daughter, and a niece (J. Wesley White , Mattie White, Rachel White, Ophelia Phillips) in Lauderdale County Alabama. Margaret then married James Andrew Duncan and had several more children. Iam unable to find where William D.
