According to two articles on Wikipedia, this can't be correct. Elizabeth of Holstein-Rendsburg and Eric Christoffersen of Denmark, did not get any children. They where married for less than a year, and they had no children:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_of_Holstein-Rendsburg
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Christoffersen_of_Denmark
Elizabeth of Holstein-Rendsburg had one son with John II, Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg: Albert IV, Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg
Well, http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/DENMARK.htm#ErikChristoffersenB says he had four children (wife unknown). One of these is Niels Eriksen.
Also, S. Otto Brenner in Nachkommen Gorms de Alten says he had the same four children by an un-named wife. The only problem seems to be who was the mother of these children.

That may well be. But read the curator-note on Erik II Christoffersen, (legitimate). Because of that, I have now moved this profile to be the son of Erik Christoffersen Løvenbalk, and NOT Erik II Christoffersen, which according to the wikipedia-articles would be impossible.
Curator-note:
Easily confused with the illegitimate half-brother Erik von Løvenbalk.
I can also add a couple more sources to support on my conclusion.
http://finnholbek.dk/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I9636&tree=2
(suggesting Erik Christoffersen Løvenbalk as father, unknown mother)
http://slektenkaas.com/getperson.php?personID=I1877&tree=1
(same father, suggesting NN Gyldenstjerne as the mother)
I should also add that I am from the "google-genereation", so it may well be that some lengthy document has any other conclusion. But then it of course has to be carefully considered/studied, and the source must be clearly stated, preferably with excerpts.
The source should also be of such a quality then, that the faulty wikipedia-articles (if they indeed are faulty) can be re-written. But at least in the surface (I don't want to use time to dig much deeper in it), Niels Eriksen Løvenbalk seem to be the son of Erik Christoffersen Løvenbalk and not Erik II Christoffersen.

Tor you seem to have got it right, the legitimate son Prins Erik II Christoffersen did not have any children with Elizabeth of Holstein-Rendsburg.
Niels Eriksen Løvenbalk seems to be the grandson of Christoffer II King of Denmark and a Virgin of the house of Lunge which had two children.
Regitze Christoffersdatter Løvenbalk and Erik Christoffersen Løvenbalk born Abt. 1310.
I do not know if they where Twins, infact I can't say the lineage is 100% to be trusted as there is no known records of Erik Christoffersen Løvenbalk.
However Regitze Christoffersdatter Løvenbalk is a different storry she is known to be married to Peder Stigsen Krognos and her son Stig Pedersen Krognos is also known from a Testamente issuede 1361.
But who knows maybe a source shows up.
Of Toppic : ...."Elizabeth of Holstein-Rendsburg and Eric Christoffersen of Denmark, did not get any children. They where married for less than a year"
I do not belive that in depends on how long time you have been married to have children, I belive that less than a minute schould be sufficience ,-)
