According to the profile for James William Bell he died in 1861 (probably as a result of wounds in some battle). However, if that was the case he could not have married Mary Ann Wilson in 1860 (as the Missouri marriage records in Lincoln county indicate) or have fathered any of these children, since the oldest one is shown as having been born in 1865. I believe that Mary's husband has been confused with one of the other myriad of James Bells running around out there.
