Hello all,
I've come across this town name for the Raubitzcek (Robitschek, etc.) family - Joachim (familiant), daughter Juditha (ca. 1765-1833), died in Liten - Salomon, many words I don't get. Did not find the town in Gemeinde View or German exonyms but see it on Google and it seems to be a Bohemian town where nobility lived. Entry is on badatelna, Sterbematrik 1822-39, image 29.
Any thoughts? Not in my tree but I'm curious.

Not sure if this helps at all:

Klein Bezdeditz = parish Place; Hostomice = parish name; Horovice = Judicial district (Historical)

Besdieditz (Besdietitz): Bezdědice

There are two places called Bezdědice in Bohemia. Thw onw you want is most probably Bwzdědice u Hosomic,i.e.near Hostomice, in the Beroun district ,Central Bohemia. It is near Příbram, a town that flourished in the Middle Ages thanks to silver mining (a bane in the 20th century, as silver was replaced by uranium and political prisoners were sent to work in the ruanium mines). The other Bezdědice is today a part of the town Bělá pod Bezdězem in he district of Mladá Boleslav (or possibly Mnichovo Hradiště - I did not veryfy both are possible, being close to one another), Bu it was never a town, pnly a village. Even Bělá is a small town. The important place in this neighbourhood as the castle Bezděz - today an impressivbe ruin..OF SOME HISTORICAL INTEREST, BUT MOST UNLIKELY AS THE HOME OF THE ROUBITSCHEK FAMILY. The Bezdědice you want is no doubt in Central Bohemia.

Extensive Raubitscek clan in this immediate area with roots back to middle of 17th c. at least, in nearby village of Jince (Ginetz)/ Several members of family are servants in leading Frankist house in Prague. Wonder if anything can be dug up regarding Frankist links among other Rasubitschek families in area.

Oh, yes, it is Bezdedice in Beroun, Herrschaft Ginetz. See 1793 Census, vol II, pp. 197-8

Correction: Should read vol III of 1793 Census, pp. 197-8. {Soupis zidovskych rodin v Cecach z roku 1793]

Aren't you all wonderful! Many thanks for suggesting (the obvious?) Bezdědice in Beroun, the most likely possibility. I'm also seeing R's from town Ginetz (Jince). Now becoming interested in Frankism, thanks to Paul King, especially just after reading an I.B. Singer novel* that involves Sabbatei Zevi *(The Slave).
Now, were any of you able to decipher the prose of the entry for Juditha et al (badatelna, Sterbematrik 1822-39, image 2)? Can you connect to your trees?
Cheers and thanks,
Judith

@rvk, it would be great if you could join this discussion, given the number of Frankists on your tree!

Private User Thought I'd help you out with that Judith ;)

I'm looking at that web site... what is it exactly? I'm having a challenging time finding info on my ancestors from Eastern Europe.
